China signs $1.4bn Zambia rail upgrade deal

China has signed a $1.4 billion agreement with Zambia and Tanzania to modernise the TAZARA railway, a key trade route for copper exports.The deal will see upgrades to the 1,860km railway line, which was initially financed by China in the 1970s to boost copper shipment and fuel import capacity...
