Exiled: Harsha Mehta, Citi

Head of Content
Today’s Exile is Harsha Mehta, part of the Global Trade Distribution Team at Citi. The guests that Harsha has chosen reflect her value of mentorship and education, as she wants to use her Exile to celebrate teachers past and present.

Welcome to Exiled: Dealmakers on a Desert Island, a podcast where we ‘strand’ a guest on a remote island and ask them who from their professional past, present, and future they’d choose to be stranded with. After all, it’s people that make a profession.

From her past

Harsha picked her mentors, who helped shape her career and taught her more than just the technical elements of her role. They offered her transferable skills, like resilience and the importance of saying ‘no’, and she’d love the chance to show them how much they have impacted her.

From her present

From mentors to mentees, Harsha’s guests from her present would be the young professionals she supports today. Harshe sees her role as an  opportunity to give back to the community, and she would love to spend more time helping junior professionals learn about the intricacies of an industry where they can have a tangible impact.

From her future

For Harsha, the guest she’d most like to meet from her future is herself 20 years from now. She’s curious to learn what she will learn, how today’s choices will pan out, and what she will give back to the community. Most importantly, she wants to check that she’ll keep her sense of fun!

Bonus round

Harsha said she would love the opportunity to spend more time with her parents, who instilled the importance of education from an early age. She would especially relish the opportunity to show her dad that her spontaneous approach to life worked out well, despite his worries that she didn’t plan ahead enough!

Tune in next week, where we’ll be speaking to another Exile.
