TXF Dealmakers of the Year 2024

Reporter
TXF is pleased to announce the winners of its Dealmakers of the Year Awards for 2024, a celebration of the most decorated export finance practitioners from our Dealmakers database.

TXF is pleased to share its Dealmaker of the Year Awards for 2024. Here we celebrate the achievements of the export finance community’s most active professionals using submissions and dealmaker tags on the TXF Intelligence platform. To be in with a chance to win next year, become a dealmaker today and start tagging yourself and your colleagues.

TXF Intelligence’s proprietary Dealmakers' database collates new export finance deals that are not only submitted by companies but also verified by the individuals that worked on these transactions. This supports our mission to provide reliable and up-to-date market information while also showcasing the expertise on offer across the industry.

The Dealmakers of the Year Awards recognise the experience and talent of these professionals as well as their commitment to improving transparency through our deals database.

Shortlists were selected based on the number of deals associated with an individual on TXF Intelligence’s database between Q4 2023 and Q3 2024. Consideration was also given to the size and complexity of the deals themselves.

Export Finance Dealmaker of the Year

Sam Lippitt – HSBC

Sam stood out in 2024 in his role as Head of Export Finance Americas with deals across shipping, renewables and metals & mining. His nine deals made an average volume of $1.1 billion, with standouts including the Hai Long offshore wind project financing and the POSCO Sal de Oro lithium deal.

Outstanding Female Dealmaker

Valerie Mace – Societe Generale

Valerie is a specialist in industrial shipping and cruise finance, so it should come as no surprise that her 2024 business carries a distinctly maritime flavour. Her most notable deals of the year include a big-ticket financing for Royal Caribbean Cruises and a pair of transactions totalling almost $500 million supporting offshore wind turbine installation vessels for Cadeler.

Sustainable Finance Champion

Joan Tapia – JP Morgan

In 2024 Joan completed a pair of landmark deals in the sustainable finance space – a US Exim-covered loan for solar PV in Honduras and an OeKB-covered loan for the modernisation of a hydroelectric power plant in Mexico.

DACH Export Finance Dealmaker

Stefan Eitel – KfW IPEX

KfW IPEX’s Director of ECA Advisory has led the bank’s efforts to promote German exports in partnership with Euler Hermes. In 2024 he also supported significant overseas projects that will secure critical supply chains for German manufacturers, including the Northvolt expansion funding and the H2 Green Steel financing.

FEXgen Young Export Finance Dealmaker

Albina Rosenkranz – Societe Generale

This rising star in Societe Generale’s structured export finance team made her mark on a pair of major deals that demonstrate her versatility as a dealmaker. The $460 million Quilonga Grande financing will support water treatment across Angola while the $2.5 billion Centinela mine transaction will boost global copper supplies ahead of an anticipated spike in demand for critical minerals.
