Barclays, Sinosure team for $828m Zambian project financing

Barclays has collaborated with Chinese export credit agency (ECA) Sinosure to arrange $828 million in overall project financing for Zambia’s Maamba Collieries. The facility will fund the construction of two 150 megawatt (MW) coal fired power plants at the Maamba coal mine in the southern African country, along with a new transmission line to connect the stations to the national grid.
