RFA International is making the transition from paper to electronic documentation with the take-up of Bolero’s cloud-based technology platform.

RFA International, one of the world’s largest ferroalloys distributors, is moving from paper documents to ePresentation, using Bolero’s cloud-based technology platform. The company will use the ~Bolero^ technology to slash process times and boost security in the exchange of electronic trade documents with its customers around the globe.

The arrangement is between RFA International, Calgary (Canada), Schaffhausen branch, in Switzerland and UK-headquartered Bolero.

RFA International is marketing and selling ferroalloys produced by Chemk Group at its smelting facilities in Russia. RFA International operates throughout the world, serving steel mills and larger foundries in Europe, North/South America, Asia, the Middle East, Australia and Africa.

The global extent of RFA’s operations means that Bolero’s ePresentation technology will be in use in approximately 60 countries around the world, extending the reach of the market-leading solutions into many exciting new territories.

Mikhail Antipov, president of RFA, comments “As a business with a totally global outlook, RFA International is at the cutting edge of the ferrous metals market and always looking to introduce true innovation that brings tangible improvements.”

He adds: “The transition from paper to electronic documentation using the ePresentation solution provided by Bolero will speed up our processes and bring other great benefits for us and our valuable clients.”

Key advantages of the Bolero solution include increased operational efficiency and greater visibility and control. Electronic documents are also more secure than their paper equivalents, providing better protection and risk-reduction.

Gary Cutress, sales director at Bolero, remarks: “We are delighted that RFA International, which supplies many of the world’s steel mills, has trusted Bolero’s ePresentation solution to process its trade transactions.”

He also adds: “The agreement with RFA International provides Bolero with the opportunity to serve new customers and to show different audiences the ground-breaking effectiveness of our technology. By adopting ePresentation, RFA can realise both short and long-term benefits, including increased efficiency, visibility, control and compliance across central and regional trade operations.”

Bolero is a cloud-based platform which provides a different way to implement multi-party trade finance solutions. Bolero operates in more than 50 countries and manages more than 600,000 trade transactions per month.

Bolero’s cloud architecture ensures fast deployment, ease of use and global access together with no infrastructure costs. Users benefit from accelerated time to cash, reduced costs, greater control and visibility and operational efficiencies.

Because trade finance involves collaboration between multiple parties, all Bolero applications are built on the Bolero Exchange, a collaborative platform which supports all trade flows between all parties and across all locations. Each Bolero member only needs to connect once and then has common access to all other community members whilst remaining completely insulated from a trade partner’s specific technology and business process.
